Lenguaje inclusivo y exclusión de clase
Brigitte Vasallo

NONFICTION | 2021 | 160 pages

“This ought to be a book about inclusive language. And it is. But it is also a book that asks who includes whom and where,” says author Brigitte Vasallo.

This text investigates inclusive language but, rather than doing so on the basis of words, it does so by means of methods of discourse production and restrictions to access to this production. With social class as the main—though not the sole—focus of analysis, Vasallo explores social mobility through linguistic registers and, on the other hand, through the limits of the power of enunciation, political existence in media invisibility, and the paradox of the inclusion of the subordinate into the hegemonic in the era of surveillance and information capitalism.

Through these elements, the author raises the issue of inflation as applied to the field of communication, and adds a line of thought to the work carried out in the context of the emancipation of language and through language.
