Paco Ignacio Taibo II

Paco Ignacio Taibo II is a tireless social activist, historian, and the author of biographies of Pancho Villa, Tony Guiteras, and the widely read biography of Che Guevara, as well as over 70 works in various literary genres published in 28 countries. Some of his works have been named "books of the year" by The New York Times, Le Monde, and the Los Angeles Times. He has won the Dashiell Hammett International Prize for best crime novel three times, the French 813 Prize for best foreign crime novel published in France, the Bancarella Prize in Italy for book of the year, and the Francisco Javier Clavijero National History Prize from the INAH (National Institute of Anthropology and History), among other awards. His Patria trilogy has become a literary phenomenon. He is known as the creator of the new Spanish-language crime novel with the series featuring Héctor Belascoarán.
