Mario Martz

Mario Martz was born in León, Nicaragua in 1988 and has a Creative Writing master’s degree from the University of Texas in El Paso. He is the author of Viaje al reino de los tristes (2010) and Los jóvenes no pueden volver a casa (2017), which was selected by BBC Mundo as a literary reference to understand Central America today. The International Guadalajara Book Fair also included him as one of the most important authors of the region. Work he has written has been translated into English, French, and Italian, and he has published poetry, interviews, stories, and non-fiction pieces in different journals and magazines, including Rio Grande Review, Eñe, The New York Times, The Offing Magazine, and others. He currently lives in Mexico.
