Guillermo Aguirre was born in Bilbao in 1984. He is a writer and a professor of creative writing. He debuted in 2010 with Electrónica para Clara (winner of the 15th Lengua de Trapo Novel Prize), and has since also published the novels Leonardo (Lengua de Trapo, 2013), El cielo que nos tiene promesa (Demipage, 2016), and Un tal Cangrejo (Sexto Piso, 2022). Since the birth of his son, he has worked as a househusband while spending time with his family on horseback between Madrid and his town, Nava de Ordunte. Estival (Sexto Piso, 2025) is his fifth novel.
