Angélica Liddell
Angélica Liddell was born in Figueres, Girona. She founded the theater company Atra Bilis Teatro in 1993, and her plays have been translated into multiple languages and performed on prestigious international stages such as the Avignon Festival, the Vienna Festival, the Schaubühne in Berlin, and the Théâtre de l’Odéon in Paris. She has received numerous important awards including the National Dramatic Literature Prize in 2012, the Silver Lion at the 2013 Venice Biennale, and the 2016 Leteo Prize, and she was also named a Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters in France in 2017. In 2023, she received the UBU Prize in Italy, and in 2025 she was awarded the National Theater Prize. She has published unclassifiable books that include poetry and short stories, and her novel El Silk Road, will be published soon.
