Ricardo Silva Romero

Ricardo Silva Romero was born in Bogotá, Colombia in 1975. He is the author of a play, Podéis ir en paz, two collections of short stories, Sobre la tela de una araña and Semejante a la vida, the books of poetry, Terranía and Réquiem (Bogotá National Poetry Award, 1999) and a brief biography of Woody Allen. His critically acclaimed novels include Érase una vez en ColombiaAutogol, En orden de estatura, El hombre de los mil nombres, Parece que va a llover, Tic, Relato de Navidad en la Gran Vía. For many years he was the film critic at Semana magazine and he has a weekly column in El Tiempo, Colombia's largest newspaper. He is a frequent contributor to various Latin American magazines, and in 2007 he was selected as one of the best young Latin American writers by the Hay Festival in Bogotá.
