Noche sin fortuna
Andrés Caicedo

NOVEL | 2009 | 220 pages

In one of his diary entries circa 1976, Andrés Caicedo mentioned a “very violent” text he was working on at the time. From what we are able to tell today, this text later turned into Noche sin fortuna, the forceful novel he was working on at the time of his death. As in most of his writing, the novel centers around a group of young bourgeois kids who leave the comfort of their homes only to be engulfed but the “bubble of horror” whose cast could very well be out of George Romero’s Night of the Living Dead. Noche sin fortuna is a furiously juvenile novel: irreverent, naive, tragic and terribly entertaining.
