Professor Tobias McIntosh seems to be witnessing his own funeral: no one speaks to him, no one sees him, while the coffin goes from the altar to the car that will lead the funeral march. What is happening? Is he invisible? Why are they singing those sad British songs? Are all these people dressed in black mourning him? Did he suffer a heart attack, was he hit on the head or an airplane crash? His parents, the loves of his life, died nine months ago. What’s most likely, since no one is seeking comfort on his shoulder, is that he’s dead. And the last months of his life, a farewell to his legendary Physics classes, to the relationships he managed to build in his life and to a heavy way of being that left him living in a cage, have helped him die in peace.
